GtkFontButton is another type of specialized button that allows the user to select font parameters that correspond to fonts currently residing on the user s system. Font options are chosen in a font selection dialog that is displayed when the user clicks the button. These options include the font name, style options, and font size. An example GtkFontButton widget is displayed in Figure 4-11.

Encryption can help us achieve confidentiality, among other security goals. In this section, we start exploring cryptographic primitives for encryption. In particular, we will start with studying block ciphers, in which, say, blocks of 64, 128, or 256 bits are encrypted at one time. Many encryption algorithms have been developed over time, and we examine a few of them here. We start by looking at the Data Encryption Standard (DES) and Triple DES algorithms. We will also cover the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm selected by NSA in 2000 to deal with the inevitable obsolescence of DES. In addition to DES, Triple DES, and AES block ciphers, we also discuss RC4, a stream cipher, in Section 12.2.2.

When compared with the rest of the ASP.NET MVC Framework, testing routes isn t easy or intuitive because a number of abstract classes need to be mocked out before route testing is possible. Luckily, MvcContrib has a nice fluent route-testing API that we can use to make testing these routes easier. But before we look at that, listing 16.10 demonstrates how you d test a route with NUnit and Rhino Mocks.

The font is provided as a string in the following format: Family Style Size. Each of the parameters is optional; the default font for GtkFontButton is Sans 12, which provides no style parameters. Family refers to the formal font name such as "Sans", "Serif" or "Arial". Style options can vary between fonts, but they normally include "Italic", "Bold" and "Bold Italic". If you choose a font style of Regular, no font style will be specified. The size is point size of the text to be shown, such as "12" or "12.5".

While we present a few representative symmetric encryption algorithms here, there are many more that have been developed. The International Data Encryption Algorithm (IDEA), A5 (an encryption algorithm used as part of the GSM cell phone standard), Blowfish, and Skipjack are examples of other encryption algorithms. If you re interested in learning more about encryption algorithms, you should read Practical Cryptography, by Niels Ferguson and Bruce Schneier, or Applied Cryptography: Protocols, Algorithms, and Source Code in C, by Bruce Schneier. Both books catalog many more algorithms than we discuss in this book. Each of these algorithms use different key lengths. They also have different security properties, and some of them are ideal for different applications. Using DES, Triple DES, AES, and RC4 as examples, we provide you some idea of how symmetric encryption algorithms work, and what the trade-offs between them are.
